This beautiful Jaguar has a six cylinder XK engine with with twin SU carbs, four speed manual gearbox with overdrive and reasonable boot space.

The Jaguar MKII replaced the MKI, after its 2 year run in 1959, and lasted almost for a decade until 1968. With the XK, DOC engine it came in three sizes – the rather genteel 2.4, the sportier 3.4 and finally the faster and heavier 3.8. Fancied by both the criminal fraternity and the police alike, and well as the class conscious business man. There was plenty of debate as to whether the heavier 3.8 engine affected the road holding of the lighter front end of the 3.4. This model is now famous as the ’Morse“ after the long John Thaw TV series.

Appeal to the business man, was no doubt due to the flowing lines and the mountain of leather and wood to the interior. The dash with its wood, big dials and row of switches has an instant attraction.

Our car has just had an engine rebuild in January/February 2008.
