Self drive Classic Car Hire Terms and Conditions
Insurance
Fully Comprehensive Insurance covers the Insured only. Any additional drivers are charged at £23.50 for any hire up to 72 hours and £35.25 for up to 7 days, subject to insurer's approval.
Age Restriction
All drivers must be 30 to 70 years of age, holding a full licence for a minimum of 2 years (minor endorsements acceptable). More than 6 current points has to be referred to the insurers. Licence must be produced. Not more than one accident in the last three years can be accepted. Additional insurance charge for drivers 25-30 - £15 per day, £25 per weekend, £50 per week plus VAT. Unfortunately, for the Ferrari there is an age restriction of 30 to 60 for drivers.
Identification
Domestic - proof of residence such as a utility bill (gas, electricity or telephone) and photo ID. Overseas - Passport for copying. Driving licences must be produced (both parts in the case of two part licences) for all drivers. Cars will not be released until all ID and Licences are produced
Booking and Cancellation
25% non-returnable deposit paid on booking. Balance to be paid two weeks prior to hire, if by cheque or on collection if by debit or credit card. Cars returned after the agreed time are liable to a part day surcharge. Booking periods cannot be longer than one calendar month.
Excess and Security Bond
One week's rental is required for a security bond. This will be taken as a credit card transaction only, which will not be processed unless loss or damage occurs. The hirer will be liable for the first £750 (£1500 for non european clients) of any claim.
Charges which may be set against security bond are;
- Cars will be supplied with a full tank of petrol, and this bond will cover any petrol charges if not returned in the same state, with £5 surcharge.
- Any fines or penalties or other expenses imposed on Classic Touring by law arising from the use of the car whilst on hire.
- An insurance excess (£750 (£1500 for non european clients)) against any accidental damage or loss caused to the vehicle by the hirer or a third party.
- As a payment towards any mechanical damage which is not covered by our insurers eg tyres, wheels, clutch and gearbox sustained during the period of hire due to misuse and abuse. This does not include normal wear and tear.
Note: any damage caused by reckless or careless driving, or by any unauthorised driver will be the full responsibility of the hirer. Four seater cars can take a maximum of 4 persons and two seater cars a maximum of 2 persons.
Smoking and pets For the consideration of all hirers we ask customers not to smoke or carry pets in the car.Breakdown Cover
Every effort is made to ensure reliability, but these are older vehicles and are covered by breakdown, relay and homestart cover, which will give minimum disruption and allow you to reach your next destination. In the case of a total breakdown we will supply a replacement vehicle as similar as possible to the one hired.
Liability
Classic Touring will not be liable for any loss or damaged property unless a definate 'break in' can be proved.
General liability is limited to a hire charge refund. No consequential loss liability will be covered.
Use of Vehicle
The hirer may use the vehicle for the purpose of their business and for social, domestic and pleasure purposes. The vehicle may not be used for any purposes for which they are not expressly designed. Further the hirer may not use or permit the vehicles to be used for hire, driving tuition, racing or pace making or for competing in any form of motor sport, track days, or for any illegal purpose whatsoever.
Delivery
Delivery can be arranged at an additional charge, from £2.00 per mile between destinations.
