1936 Alvis Speed 20 Larchfield Saloon

Classic Cars coming soon to the Fleet

We are continually expanding our fleet and the latest additions which will be available to hire soon are listed below:

1936 Alvis Speed 20 Larchfield Saloon

Good looking saloon, with George Formby being the first owner. Also believed to be on the Larchfield stand at the Motor Show. Larchfield were known for the extending boot design.

This car needs quite a lot of work, before being ready for hire. The pedal position, has the accelerator pedal between the clutch and brake pedal. OK for someone with experience, but not such a good idea for most hirers, so we have to change that.

Also although the upholstery is original, and some prefer the originality, on a personal basis, a rear seat with holes in it is not good enough, so it's going to be re-upholstered. In taking out the interior, we'll probably find some problem with the wooden frame to be sorted.

Currently the rear door doesn't look too strong. Then finally we'll have to do a repaint, as the current paint carries blemishes, and the body requires some repair.

It would be nice to think I can get this done before the summer of 2008, but no promises.
